To some, at least. Although it’s got pretty stellar criticism from the professional games community, many gamers are still objecting to this acclaim. There’s a heap of these comments on practically every gaming site, but they all boil down to several points.
Having played, and enjoyed Gone Home, it honestly does deserve its applause. As an exercise in design it is well-thought out and marvelously executed, it is efficient mechanically yet narratively rich. It provides innovative thought and alternative gameplay models which contribute to the zeitgeist.
